LEE COUNTY COVID-19 VACCINATIONS BEGAN MONDAY FOR PEOPLE 65 AND OLDER

The Florida Department of Health in Lee County began COVID-19 vaccinations Monday for high-risk frontline health care workers and those 65 and older. DOH-Lee staff has 300 doses of vaccine available at each of seven sites this week. For a complete list of vaccination sites, see this WINK News report. The Moderna vaccine requires two doses, which are meant to be given 28 days apart. There is no fee for the vaccine, and no appointment is necessary. To expedite the registration process, visit leegov.com/vaccine to download, print and complete the consent form prior to visiting one of the vaccination sites.

RSW SEES POST-CHRISTMAS TRAVEL SPIKE BUT ONLY HALF OF LAST YEAR’S NUMBERS

Southwest Florida International Airport experienced one of the busiest travel days Sunday since the pandemic began as hundreds of thousands of people return from Christmas vacations. However, the Transportation Security Administration says double the amount of people were coming in and out of the airport this time a year ago. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that Americans limit travel because of the pandemic. The official holiday travel numbers for RSW will not be available until Monday, Jan. 4, WINK News reports.
 
 

EQUUS CAPITAL PARTNERS ACQUIRES MULTIFAMILY COMMUNITY IN EAST NAPLES

An affiliate of Philadelphia-based Equus Capital Partners Ltd., one of the nation’s leading real estate investment managers, has acquired Inspira, a 95% occupied, 304-unit Class A apartment community located in East Naples for $82,250,000. The five four-story apartment buildings acquired by Equus Investment Partnership XI will be managed by Madison Apartment Group L.P., the multifamily operating arm of Equus. Built in 2018 by Naples-based Stock Development, Inspira is located at the intersection of Rattlesnake Hammock Road and Grand Lely Drive within Lely Resort. Inspira boasts a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes and a 10,000-square-foot, two-story clubhouse. Robert Given, Brad Capas and Neal Victor of Cushman & Wakefield represented the seller, an affiliate of Stock Development.
 
 

LEHNE BURGER LAUNCHES LOCATION AT COCONUT POINT

Lehne Burger launched a new location on Dec. 23 at Coconut Point in Estero. The new family-friendly restaurant opened next to the regional mall’s movie theater in the former space of BurgerIM and Johnny Rockets. The new American diner welcomes patrons to customize their own burgers with more than 85,000 possible combinations of burgers, buns, cheeses and toppings, including some vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. The local fast-casual concept started in 2014 on Fort Myers Beach, but founder Mike Lehne sold it and opened a new burger joint in south Cape Coral in 2018. Now, he has expanded to Estero. NEW CASANOVA SHOWROOM AT BAYFRONT IN NAPLES COMBINES ART AND FASHION

The owners of Casanova Boutique opened a second showroom last month in Naples, returning to Bayfront, where the business started 15 years ago. While they continue to operate a gallery in the Village Shops on Venetian Bay, Keith Davison and his wife, Marina, have branched off with a slightly different concept combining art and fashion, including new luxury brands of women’s apparel and leather accessories from Italy, France and other parts of the globe. “My wife’s specialty is Italian clothing lines. She was born in Torino, Italy, and has spent her life in the fashion and clothing world,” Davison says. “My specialty is Murano Glass. I have the largest selection of Murano in the United States.” Casanova Art & Fashion is now open at 470 Bayfront Place, next to Southern Style Kitchen & Cocktails in the Bayfront mixed-use development where Goodlette-Frank Road meets U.S. 41 along the Gordon River. The new specialty business is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.  
 
 

CENTER FOR SIGHT WELCOMES TWO TO US EYE NETWORK

Two optometry practices in Southwest Florida, Fort Myers Eye Center and Valentine Eye Care, have partnered with Center For Sight, one of the nation’s leading multi-disciplinary physician groups. Center For Sight is a founding member practice of US Eye USEye.com, a physician-led, patient-centric network. Fort Myers Eye Center and Valentine Eye Care will assume the local brand name, Center For Sight, bringing the total number of Center For Sight offices in Southwest Florida to 14. Over the next year, Fort Myers Eye Center and Valentine Eye Care will integrate their operations with the US Eye model. All existing patient appointments will proceed as scheduled and patients will continue to be seen by their established physician at their existing practice location. With the addition of Fort Myers Eye Center and Valentine Eye Care, US Eye now operates 27 clinics and three surgery centers across the southeast U.S.
 
 

FL STAR COMPLETES BUILD OUT OF KILWINS AT MERCATO

FL Star Construction, a division of FL Star, has completed the buildout of Kilwins at Mercato, a confectionary specializing in chocolates, Mackinac Island fudge, toffee and original recipe ice cream. The new facility is the second location for Kilwins in Naples. It is located at 9106 Strada Place, Suite 4100, adjacent to Narrative Coffee, another FL Star built shop at Mercato. Other projects by FL Star include Sapphire Cove, Milano Lakes, and Arrowhead Reserve. FL Star is also building single-family homes in Golden Gate Estates. In addition, the firm provides management services for commercial and industrial buildings for real estate owners and condominium associations including maintenance, collection of rents and financial reporting.

Naples Lifestyle Group sponsoring Paradise Coast Wellness Experience

Fifth Avenue South brings holiday cheer to Boys & Girls Club

The Fifth Avenue South Business Improvement District (BID) delivered holiday cheer to underprivileged and at-risk children at the Boys & Girls Club of Collier County. Recently, representatives of Fifth Avenue South donated eight artificial Christmas trees, including one for the Boys and Girls Club Nichols Campus center in East Naples. Eight full turkey dinners were provided, consisting of cooked turkeys and mashed potatoes and vegetables. Families also received a wide variety of Christmas toys and gifts, including bikes and scooters, baby dolls, art kits, Lego sets, remote control cars, EarPods and children’s books along with essential clothing items like pajamas, socks and hoodies. The holiday gift items were collected during the 47th annual “Christmas on Fifth” holiday celebration, and organizers hope to build upon their success in future years, according to the Fifth Avenue South Business Improvement District.
