A private European investment group, Tamiami Newgate LLC, purchased Newgate Center and Park North from Creekside West Inc., GC Partnership, Ltd, and FoxRock Newgate 5150 Realty, LLC, for $33 million. The property is at 5200 Tamiami Trail N. and Park North, 5125 Castello Drive, Naples. David J. Stevens, CCIM, of Investment Properties Corp. negotiated this transaction for the seller. Rainer N. Filthaut of IRC International Realty Corp. negotiated this transaction for the buyer.

HODGES EMS PARAMEDIC TEAM PLACES FIRST IN CHALLENGE
Students in the Emergency Medical Services Paramedic program at Hodges University placed first during the sixth annual Panther EMS Challenge, hosted by Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth. The team won in the student category. The Hodges team, Cody Allen, Michael D’Angelo, Thomas Munro and Kevin Murphy, along with instructor Cassandra Fersch, tested their abilities to assess, react, diagnose, and treat patients during three scenarios. At each emergency, the paramedic students encountered people portraying victims, as well as computerized patient simulators. All four students plan to compete in two more competitions later this year.

Jessica Manchette, vice president at Champions For Learning, has been recognized as a 2019 College Ready Innovator by the Florida College Access Network (FCAN). The College Ready Florida Innovator Awards recognize those trying new approaches to help students get into and pay for college while inspiring younger students to plan for their futures. Manchette is a key content leader on behalf of Champions For Learning for Future Ready Collier, and has been instrumental in Collier County seniors progressing in their completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), a press release states. This year’s awardees were honored at a special awards luncheon on May 8 at Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, as part of the 2019 FCAN Summit.

Bonita Bridge Club raises $21,355 for Alzheimer’s Association
Members of the Bonita Bridge Club presented staff of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Florida Gulf Coast Chapter with a $21,355 check on May 3. The funds were raised through a bridge tournament the club hosted March 8 for The Longest Day, an Alzheimer’s Association fundraising initiative that encourages participants to combat the darkness of Alzheimer’s through the activity of their choice on the summer solstice or whatever date is most convenient. The Bonita Bridge Club is sanctioned by the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL), which has raised more than $4.7 million for The Longest Day through bridge tournaments hosted around the country.
Schulze Family Foundation awards CCCR a $35,000 grant
The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation granted Collier Child Care Resources (CCCR) $35,000 earlier this year to assist CCCR in providing partial tuition assistance for the children of low-income, working parents who struggle to afford childcare. CCCR operates four early childhood development centers in Collier County. More than 80 percent of the 300 children enrolled are from economically disadvantaged families and receive the tuition assistance that this grant helps to fund.
