NAPLES PROPERTY SELLS FOR $33 MILLION

A private European investment group, Tamiami Newgate LLC, purchased Newgate Center and Park North from Creekside West Inc., GC Partnership, Ltd, and FoxRock Newgate 5150 Realty, LLC, for $33 million. The property is at 5200 Tamiami Trail N. and Park North, 5125 Castello Drive, Naples. David J. Stevens, CCIM, of Investment Properties Corp. negotiated this transaction for the seller. Rainer N. Filthaut of IRC International Realty Corp. negotiated this transaction for the buyer.

HODGES EMS PARAMEDIC TEAM PLACES FIRST IN CHALLENGE

Students in the Emergency Medical Services Paramedic program at Hodges University placed first during the sixth annual Panther EMS Challenge, hosted by Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth. The team won in the student category. The Hodges team, Cody Allen, Michael D’Angelo, Thomas Munro and Kevin Murphy, along with instructor Cassandra Fersch, tested their abilities to assess, react, diagnose, and treat patients during three scenarios. At each emergency, the paramedic students encountered people portraying victims, as well as computerized patient simulators. All four students plan to compete in two more competitions later this year.

SPIRO & ASSOCIATES ACHIEVES DISTRICT ADDYS

Spiro & Associates Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations and Brand Architecture has received two fourth district, Silver American Advertising (ADDY) awards for the Hill Tide Estates Brochure, a hardcover storybook accompanied by original photography and illustrations, and Little Toot Digital Storybook, a flagship fundraising tool for the Little Toot Foundation. The American Advertising Federation honored Spiro on May 4 at the Chapman-Leonard Studios in Orlando, just weeks after receiving a local Gold ADDY, along with 11 local Silver ADDYs. A District ADDY indicates that the work stood out among winners from other clubs throughout the state of Florida and the Caribbean in one of 15 district competitions. Now, these ADDYs will advance to the National American Advertising Awards.

ESTERO CHAMBER AWARDS LUNCHEON SET

The Estero Chamber of Commerce will host its 21st annual Awards Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on June 12 at the Club at Grandezza. Each year, the chamber recognizes their members and community leaders who have made a difference in the greater Estero area.  This year, the chamber will recognize the Business of the Year, Person of the Year, and Non-Profit of the Year. In addition to the luncheon, the 2019-2020 slate of officers will be presented. Ray Higdon, a bestselling author, will be the guest speaker, and Peter Busch of NBC2 News will be the moderator. CROWLEY JOINS MNMW

Markham Norton Mosteller Wright & Co. P.A. (MNMW) welcomes Courtney Crowley to the firm’s litigation support, forensic accounting and mediation services team. In her role, she provides forensic review and analysis for civil matters involving commercial damages, lost profits, shareholder disputes, personal injury and wrongful death damages, dissolution of marriage, and fraud investigations. Crowley graduated magna cum laude from Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in May 2018. She was awarded FGCU’s 2018 Undergraduate of the Year award for the Lutgert College of Business. Crowley previously worked in the nonprofit sector in finance and administration.

MANCHETTE RECEIVES FCAN AWARD

Jessica Manchette, vice president at Champions For Learning, has been recognized as a 2019 College Ready Innovator by the Florida College Access Network (FCAN). The College Ready Florida Innovator Awards recognize those trying new approaches to help students get into and pay for college while inspiring younger students to plan for their futures. Manchette is a key content leader on behalf of Champions For Learning for Future Ready Collier, and has been instrumental in Collier County seniors progressing in their completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), a press release states. This year’s awardees were honored at a special awards luncheon on May 8 at Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, as part of the 2019 FCAN Summit.

Bonita Bridge Club raises $21,355 for Alzheimer’s Association

Members of the Bonita Bridge Club presented staff of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Florida Gulf Coast Chapter with a $21,355 check on May 3. The funds were raised through a bridge tournament the club hosted March 8 for The Longest Day, an Alzheimer’s Association fundraising initiative that encourages participants to combat the darkness of Alzheimer’s through the activity of their choice on the summer solstice or whatever date is most convenient. The Bonita Bridge Club is sanctioned by the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL), which has raised more than $4.7 million for The Longest Day through bridge tournaments hosted around the country.

Schulze Family Foundation awards CCCR a $35,000 grant

The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation granted Collier Child Care Resources (CCCR) $35,000 earlier this year to assist CCCR in providing partial tuition assistance for the children of low-income, working parents who struggle to afford childcare. CCCR operates four early childhood development centers in Collier County. More than 80 percent of the 300 children enrolled are from economically disadvantaged families and receive the tuition assistance that this grant helps to fund.
