NAPLES AREA CLOSED SALES UP IN APRIL

Closed sales during April in the Naples housing market increased 12.8 percent to 1,158 properties in April 2019 from 1,027 properties in April 2018. Broker analysts reviewing the last month’s Market Report released by the Naples Area Board of REALTORS (NABOR), which tracks home listings and sales within Collier County (excluding Marco Island), reported that April was a solid month with strong sales activity in both the single-family and condominium markets. The report also showed nearly 1,000 properties went from active to either terminated, expired, or withdrawn in the Southwest Florida MLS during April, which directly impacted April’s ending inventory level as seen in an 11.1 percent decrease to 6,435 properties in April 2019 from 7,239 properties in April 2018. GULFSHORE BUSINESS NAMES MANAGING EDITOR

Justin Paprocki was recently named the managing editor of Gulfshore Business. Paprocki has been with Gulfshore Life Media, LLC for four years. Previously, he was the digital media manager for Gulfshore Life and Gulfshore Business magazines and a senior editor at Gulfshore Life. Before arriving in Naples, the native Ohioan spent a decade as a writer and editor at community newspapers in South Carolina and Ohio before earning a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri. He lives in north Naples with his family.

NEIGHBORHOOD HEALTH CLINIC APPOINTS COO

The Neighborhood Health Clinic has appointed Gail Dolan as its chief operating officer. As COO, Dolan will oversee the day-to-day operations for the clinic’s medical and dental patients. A registered nurse, Dolan holds doctorates in education with Nurse Executive, Advanced Certification (NEA-BC). Her experience includes national dean of nursing at Rasmussen College, chief operation officer at Naples Community Hospital and time as a health and science educator. Neighborhood Health Clinic is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization providing Collier County’s working, uninsured residents affordable medical and dental care. NAPLES AVIATION NAMED AMONG BEST FBOS

Professional Pilot magazine named Naples Aviation the 15th best fixed-base operator (FBO) and the eighth best independent FBO in the U.S. in its annual Preferences Regarding Aviation Services and Equipment survey. Naples Aviation moved up seven places this year from 22nd in the 2018 ranking for best U.S. FBO and three places up from 11th best independent FBO. Operated by Naples Airport Authority, Naples Aviation is the fixed-base operator at Naples Airport that provides fuel, hangar space, parking and other services to private and corporate aircraft and other general aviation operators. Professional Pilot is a monthly business-aviation trade magazine.

FLORIDA BAR PRESIDENT HEADLINES LEE COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION LUNCHEON

Michelle Suskauer, president of The Florida Bar and regular contributor to CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, NBC and CNBC, will be the keynote speaker for the Lee County Bar Association’s third annual Diversity Workshop and Luncheon. The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 7 at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in downtown Fort Myers. Suskauer is one of six women to serve as president in the 70-year history of The Florida Bar. Other speakers include local LGBTQ activist Arlene Goldberg and family-law attorney Brian Kruger. The event is a function of the diversity and inclusion committee of the Lee County Bar Association. The cost to attend is $25 for Lee County Bar Association members and $35 for non-members. PHAM JOINS SNEAD EYE GROUP

Snead Eye Group founder Dr. John W. Snead and Medical Director Dr. Brad A. Snead, have added Dr. Michael Pham to their practice. Pham completed his undergraduate degree in Genetics at the University of Western Ontario and his doctorate in Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. He trained at the University of Chicago Department of Ophthalmology and Veterans Affairs medical centers in Huntington, West Virginia and Gainesville, Florida. Pham has been an optometrist in the Fort Myers area for over 19 years and enjoys his own private practice on Sanibel Island. He provides primary eye care for adults and children age 8 years and older.

Harry Chapin Food Bank to participate in Hands for Hearts

The Harry Chapin Food Bank will hold a mobile food pantry on June 1 at the Golden Gate Community Center, one of the sites for Hands for Hearts, a free CPR awareness event held on that day by the Leadership Collier Class of 2019. Hands for Hearts Collier will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at two Naples locations:  Community Theatre and Golden Gate Community Center. There is no registration, and all ages are welcome. The food bank’s mobile pantry will be held for Hands for Hearts participants from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Golden Gate location.
