Health care and public service remain the top jobs in Southwest Florida. Six of the 10 top employers in Southwest Florida are either public school systems, county government or hospital systems, according to Florida Gulf Coast University’s Regional Economic Institute’s annual top employers list. Lee Memorial Health System is the top employer in Southwest Florida with 13,558 employees.
Looking at the private sector, Arthrex is the top employer with 3,983 employees; Chico’s is not far behind with 3,903.
