Lee Health expands Babcock Ranch clinic services

Lee Health expanded services at its Family Medicine Clinic in Babcock Ranch, increasing primary care capacity and adding on-site laboratory services to better serve the growing community. 

The expanded clinic opened March 3 and now includes eight primary care exam rooms, allowing providers to see more patients. The growth also creates space for an additional health care provider in the future. 

“Our goal is to continue growing alongside the Babcock Ranch community and to make high-quality, convenient care more accessible for our patients,” said Kris Fay, Lee Health’s chief administrative officer of LPG and ambulatory care services. “By expanding our clinic and adding lab services, we’re able to streamline care, reduce the need for patients to travel elsewhere for services and better support the health of the community as it continues to grow.” 

A key component of the expansion is a new on-site laboratory draw station, which allows patients to complete blood work and other lab testing during the same visit as their primary care appointments. 

Lee Health Family Medicine Clinic is in Founders Square, 42880 Crescent Loop, suites 110 and 120, within the Babcock Ranch development. 

The clinic was the first health care facility established in Babcock Ranch. Since then, additional medical services have been added to the fast-growing community. 

TGH Urgent Care, operated by Tampa General Hospital, later opened a location at the Shoppes at Yellow Pine. Babcock Ranch officials said that facility also is planning an expansion that will add approximately 6,100 square feet of space for additional primary care and laboratory services later this year. 

The expansion of health care services comes as Babcock Ranch continues to grow rapidly. Along with medical providers, the number of shops, restaurants and other services has increased as the master-planned community adds residents. 

Babcock Ranch defied a regional housing slowdown in 2025, recording a 34% increase in home sales and surpassing 1,000 annual transactions for the first time since development began. 

The community recorded 1,066 home sales last year even as sales slowed elsewhere in Charlotte County and builders in other planned developments lowered prices or offered incentives to attract buyers. As of Dec. 31, the community had more than 15,000 residents and a total of 5,516 homes sold, according to developer Kitson & Partners. 

As the population grows, Babcock Ranch has continued to expand amenities and services. The development includes a Publix supermarket, with plans for a second location, as well as A-rated public charter schools serving K-12. Residents also have access to parks, playgrounds and several 55-and-older neighborhoods offering resort-style amenities. 

At full buildout, Babcock Ranch is expected to include about 19,500 homes and approximately 6 million square feet of commercial space.
