The Women’s Foundation of Collier County will host the inaugural Women Rock Philanthropy luncheon, emceed by WINK News Anchor Lois Thome, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 3 at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples. The celebration unites the annual Women of Initiative event that has honored an inspiring group of women for their philanthropy and civic engagement since 1998 with the annual Power of the Purse luncheon. The 2021 honorees are Barbara Franks, Amy Moglia Heuerman, Barbara Rhodes-Melvin, Bev Cherry, Diane McCaw, Donna S. Hall, Jody B. Lippes, Julie A. Schmelzle, Lee Kraus, Shirley Z. Welsh and the first mother/daughter duo, Simone Lutgert and Heather Dockweiler. Each has made a philanthropic impact in various areas, from the environment to health care to the arts, but women, children and education are at the forefront.
