Vickie and Andre Jones long have been barbecue nomads. Now, they finally have a place to call home.
Jonesez BBQ just opened its first, standalone takeout restaurant at 13438 Palm Beach Boulevard, just east of Verandah and west of the Buckingham Road turn to Riverdale High School.
“We kind of outgrew the food trucks,” Andre Jones said. “We can only do so much in the food truck.”
The food trucks will still be out and about all of Southwest Florida: at the Swamp Cabbage Festival in LaBelle, where Jonesez BBQ got its start in 2005-2009, and at other festivals, fairs, high school football games, events and other pop-up tent spots.
“The people in LaBelle really supported us,” Vickie Jones said of how she and her husband of 35 years were able to expand throughout the region. “Now, we’re doing more catering and corporate accounts. It’s so nice to finally have more room.”
The family-owned business is also a family-run business. The Jones children help run the new spot, and Vickie Jones’ sister-in-law and brother have been running the food truck.
Pork spareribs, grilled chicken, pulled pork and pulled chicken and side items are on the menu.
The new Jonesez BBQ location is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.
