Drawer of medical supplies

The turning point in Dan Beiler’s career in the medical supply industry came in 2013 while working in sales for a large company.

A medical practice in Lee County that ran out of supplies on a Friday placed a rush order for a ton of supplies. With the practice needing the order the next day so it could see patients, Belier was told by his supervisors to ship the order as it normally did even though it wouldn’t have made it to Southwest Florida by the next day.

After Beiler, 44, vowed to make the shipment himself, stocking his Toyota Camry with boxes, driving more than two hours south and delivering the much-needed supplies the same day, the Sarasota native knew he’d dedicate the rest his life to customers. He fell in love with Lee County and opened Macaire Medical at 9211 Cockleshell Court, Suite 3, in Bonita Springs, off Old 41.

Beiler’s business offers a local option for supplies ranging from exam table paper and gloves to sutures and microscope slides to the Fort Myers-Naples area. He describes it as more of a calling than a job. A few years ago, while dreaming up Macaire Medical he wrote down “honor the calling of your soul and you will be divinely supported along the way.”

“I just kept coming back to health care,” Beiler said.

His passion comes from his experiences and wanting to give every practice the same service he gave to the one he helped nine years ago.

His journey after leaving corporate sales took him to work at Publix for three years, serving as a grocery and liquor clerk and training to become a wine specialist while waiting for his non-compete to run out. In the process, he earned his Master of Business Administration.

“At Publix, I learned all about servant leadership,” Beiler said. “You’re not the one who stands on top and tells everyone what to do. You’re the one that does it.”

The name of the company came to Beiler in a dream where he kept seeing the word Macaire everywhere. He looked it up and saw its Greek origin meaning blessed. “I’m blessed to be doing this. On the flip side, we want to be a blessing to the community,” he said.

Patience was required as the COVID-19 pandemic delayed Macaire Medical’s opening. Now open for business, the company offers same-day delivery if placed before noon and free shipping. It will act as backup inventory for clients keeping products clients need in stock. Clients can order products by calling (866)-MACAIRE or (239) 800-9999 by email at dan@macairemedical.com or at macairemedical.com.
