A missing cat has been reunited with his owners after going missing for nine years.
George, the 14-year-old tabby, vanished in 2016 from his owner Fran Henriquez's home in Glasgow.
She believed George had died, but two weeks ago, she received a call from the Scottish SPCA’s Glasgow Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre, which found him while collecting stray animals around the city.
They told her that George's microchip had identified him as their missing cat - and Fran drove to the centre the following day to be reunited.
George is now safely in his family's East Kilbride home, with Fran, her husband, two young children, and another cat.

Fran told BBC Scotland that the situation was "a bit of a miracle," stating: "He is exactly how we remember him.
"He's friendly and gentle, and so relaxed at home."
The Scottish SPCA said: "George’s story underlines just how important microchipping is and why it’s vital to keep contact details current.
"The Scottish SPCA is calling for compulsory cat microchipping in Scotland, along with the introduction of a single, centralized database.
"Microchipping is already part of the Society’s standard rehoming process for cats, and the charity is working with key stakeholders to push for changes that will improve cat welfare and safety nationwide."
