International Workplace Group offers coworking solutions in Naples, including virtual offices, meeting rooms and shared office spaces.
Naples entrepreneurs, remote executives and business owners are paying the highest prices in the U.S. for an office that has no square footage, desks or furniture. A recent study by CoworkingCafe, a listing directory for flexible workspace solutions that’s part of the Yardi commercial real estate research platform, found Naples tied with Knoxville, Tennessee, for the nation’s most expensive virtual offices, with a median starting price at $225 monthly — roughly 26% above the $179 national median.
A virtual office allows remote teams, independent consultants and seasonal residents to establish a credible business presence without the overhead of long-term commercial leases. In Naples, this intangible footprint commands a distinct premium. According to CoworkingCafe’s analysis, the city’s seasonal resort economy influences rates, pricing services around part-year residents and visiting professionals seeking an established local base.
“Virtual offices provide businesses with a professional address and services like mail handling, call answering and access to meeting rooms and workspace,” said Jeff Doughman, CEO for International Workplace Group in the Americas, the parent company of Regus and Spaces, which operates three centers across Collier County, all providing virtual solutions alongside traditional coworking spaces. “Our state-of-the-art facilities in Naples provide everything professionals need across industries to stay productive, including private offices, meeting rooms, collaborative coworking spaces and our Design Your Own Office service.”
CoworkingCafe shows Collier County currently hosts seven specialized virtual office locations, led by global corporate workspace giants alongside boutique locally operated business centers. In addition to IWG properties, the area is home to Venture X, Marco One Suites and Offices, Naples Professional Suites and Windsor Office Suites, as of Sept. 1.
Statewide, monthly starting fees for virtual offices ranged from $65 in the Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville metro and $67.50 in North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton — more than triple Naples’ rate — to $199 in Orlando-Kissimmee-Sandford, the second highest market. Fort Myers-Cape Coral was mid-list at $150 a month.
The CoworkingCafe report also evaluated fees for monthly memberships, day passes and meeting rooms across U.S. metros to provide a cost snapshot of flexible workspaces. The results highlighted a curious economic dynamic: Renting a physical desk in Naples is more affordable than maintaining an invisible one. The median monthly coworking membership, which tracks starting rates across dedicated desks and open shared spaces, is $182.50 in Naples, slightly below the national median of $190. That leaves the median virtual office price $42.50 higher per month than an in-person pass.
While Naples tops virtual rates, other Florida metros shoulder higher costs for physical spaces and conference rooms. Membership costs were lower in Naples than Florida’s larger metro areas, including Tampa-St. Petersburg and Miami-Fort Lauderdale, each at $235. Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville had the highest memberships at $249 per month. The Cape Coral-Fort Myers metro area recorded the state’s second-highest hourly meeting room rate at $48, trailing only Tampa–St. Petersburg–Clearwater at $50. Rates were unavailable for Naples.
With flexible workspaces remaining part of the operating equation for freelancers, small businesses and growing teams, the numbers show how much location and work pattern can change the monthly workspace bill.
The pricing trends unfold against a steady nationwide expansion of flexible workspaces. CoworkingCafe’s national tracking showed the flex office sector grew 2.7%, rising from 9,136 spaces to 9,384 — a net gain of 248 locations since the first quarter of 2026. Shared spaces now represent 2.34% of the country’s commercial real estate market, up from 2.28% in the prior quarter.
Doughman noted that IWG added a record 728 locations globally in the first half of the year, expanding into high-demand regional destinations. “IWG's flexible workspace model empowers businesses to access workspace when needed across more than 2,000 locations across the U.S., while avoiding long-term real estate commitments and keeping their capital lighter,” he said. “We're constantly adding to our network of centers, including in Naples, Florida, and will be continually bringing locations to where they are needed and closer to where people live and work.”
IWG serves companies of all sizes, with 83% of Fortune 500 companies as customers.
Local alternatives cater to specialized professional sectors. At Windsor Office Suites in the Strand Professional Park, owner Rob Bollinger has tailored boutique meeting spaces, concierge lounges and address services toward attorneys, court reporters, mediators, financial planners, therapists, home-based professionals and corporate satellite offices. Venture X on Tamiami Trail North similarly bridges remote consulting and corporate flexibility, offering starting virtual tiers at $150 alongside podcast suites, event rooms and private offices.
For Collier County’s remote workforce, a local ZIP code remains a valuable brand asset, one that commands top dollar even if the tenant never walks through the front door.
