Sweet Tomatoes locations on U.S. 41 in North Naples and south Fort Myers have permanently closed. San Diego-based Garden Fresh Restaurants, the parent company of Sweet Tomatoes and Souplantation, made the decision to close all 97 locations, which included 23 in Florida. The restaurants had been temporarily shuttered since March 15. Because of health concerns from the COVID-19 pandemic, the restaurant company did not see a viable path forward for a dining concept built entirely around an expansive salad bar and buffet.
