GOV. DESANTIS EXTENDS FLORIDA EVICTIONS, FORECLOSURES MORATORIUM UNTIL OCT. 1

Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday extended his executive order for the moratorium on evictions and foreclosures in Florida until Oct. 1. The previous extension deadline was Sept. 1.

RENT AND UTILITY ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE FOR FORT MYERS FAMILIES

The City of Fort Myers confirmed it has funds available through the state’s Coronavirus Relief Fund to help individuals and families who need rent and utility assistance due to the impacts of the pandemic. Residents can apply now through the city’s portal for Community Development. According to the city, housing and real estate division staff will enter information for anyone who does not have access to a computer. Those individuals are asked to call 239-321-7970 for help with the application process, WINK News reports.
 

$4 MILLION SALE ADDS TO CAPE CORAL HOUSING GROWTH

Chiquita Apartment Investors LLC recently purchased a 20-acre site at 3514 Chiquita Blvd. S. in Cape Coral from Newcom Real Properties LLC for $4 million. The buyer plans to address multi-family needs by converting the unimproved parcel to a Class-A apartment complex with nearly 320 units. Development is expected to break ground in the first quarter of 2021, with estimated delivery of the third quarter of 2022. Kitson & Partners announced that sales have surpassed 800 new homes in Babcock Ranch. Babcock Ranch hit the 700-homes-sold milestone two months ago and recently earned a spot on RCLCO Real Estate Advisor’s Top 50 list, ranking 39th among the country’s top-selling master-planned communities. Kitson & Partners announced infrastructure construction had commenced earlier this month at Crescent B Commons, the Publix-anchored shopping center at a new Babcock Ranch entrance, south of the existing entrance with the signature Babcock Ranch bridge. LEE COMMISSIONERS OK PURCHASE OF 600-PLUS ACRES FOR CONSERVATION 20/20

The Lee Board of County Commissioners voted Tuesday to approve the purchase of two parcels for Conservation 20/20 totaling more than 600 acres. The parcels include about 194 acres on Four Mile Cove Parkway in Cape Coral and adjacent to Four Mile Cove Ecological Park to the south and the Caloosahatchee River along the eastern boundary. A second parcel of about 427 acres on Carter Lane in Alva is within Hickey Creek Swamp on the south side of State Route 80 and has potential for marked hiking trails. The total purchase price for the properties is nearly $10.5 million, plus closing costs. Conservation lands help the county protect drinking water, enhance water quality, provide nature-based recreational opportunities, protect areas from flooding and provide wildlife habitat. SEAGATE DEVELOPMENT LAYS GROUNDWORK FOR SCOTLYNN USA DIVISION HQ

Seagate Development Group has commenced on-site and off-site construction of Scotlynn USA Division Inc.’s North American corporate headquarters. The future location for the multinational transportation and logistics firm is 9597 Gulf Research Lane in Fort Myers. The off-site work includes the extension of Gulf Research Lane eastward, along with the installation of utilities, which is more than 90% complete. Seagate has also begun importing the fill needed to raise the road and start the road extension. This phase of the eight-acre project will continue through project completion next summer. With division offices in Tampa and Indianapolis, Scotlynn’s new headquarters will be occupied by 350 management and operations team members over the next three years. This staff will have full access to a gym, basketball court, cafeteria, walking track, and an indoor/outdoor recreational space and eating area. CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS FOR SAINT RAPHAEL ROOFING’S NEW HEADQUARTERS COMPLETED

MK Architecture has completed construction documents for Saint Raphael Roofing’s new 7,800-square-foot headquarters to be located within the Alico Commercial Park at 7911 Drew Circle in Fort Myers. The pre-engineered building will house approximately 2,100 square feet of the company’s operations and administrative functions with 5,700 square feet of warehouse and storage space. The newly designed, state-of-the-art facility will also include a fenced rear yard for company vehicles and equipment. Permitting is anticipated to be completed within the next four-to-six weeks.
 

FIFTH THIRD BANK DEVELOPING NEW OFFICE IN EAST NAPLES

Fifth Third Bank is developing a new 1,819-square-foot branch office with a drive-thru on a former gas station outparcel at 2898 Tamiami Trail E., the Bayshore Drive corner next to McDonald’s at Gulf Gate Plaza in East Naples. The commercial lot has been vacant since 2007 when the former Bayshore Mobil gas station there was demolished. Since then, the site has occasionally been temporarily used for a seasonal tent selling fireworks and Christmas trees.

PEBBLEBROOKE DENTISTRY BREAKS GROUND ON NEW OFFICE BUILDING IN NORTH NAPLES

Pebblebrooke Dentistry broke ground this month for a new office on a vacant commercial lot in the Mission Hills shopping center anchored by Winn-Dixie on the northwest corner of Colier Boulevard and Vanderbilt Beach Road in North Naples. The local dental office, which has operated for 18 years in leased space in the Publix-anchored Shoppes of Pebblebrooke, plans to relocate to its own one-story, freestanding outparcel under construction next to Dunkin’ across from St. Agnes Catholic Church. ALPLANAS LLC, registered to Pebblebrooke Dentistry business manager Abel Planas, purchased the 1-acre parcel in May for $700,000, Collier County property appraiser records show. Site development plans submitted by Phoenix Associates of Florida were approved Aug. 12 by the county. The private practice of Dr. Kenia Campos, DDS, doing business as Pebblebrooke Dentistry, plans to move 2.5 miles south at the end of next summer to the new office at 14255 Collier Blvd., said office manager Courtney Short. The dental practice plans to lease part of its new 4,987-square-foot building to an additional business such as another dental or medical practitioner, she said.
 

Infrastructure Commences at Crescent B Commons

EHC INC. CONTINUES DEVELOPMENT OF CREST AT BONITA SPRINGS

EHC Inc. has completed various site development milestones at Crest at Bonita Springs. The Crest at Bonita Springs is an apartment community that will consist of 264 units in six three-story buildings on 21 acres with client The Residential Group (TRG). EHC has completed all underground utility work, two man-made lakes, and 95% of the site’s grading as well as the first phase of asphalt. Next is phase two of the final asphalt while EHC completes the remaining portion of grading at the east exit road tying into Quails Nest Lane. EHC is also providing Crest at Bonita Springs with sidewalks and concrete steps around the community to tie the buildings together. The site construction company has completed 70% of the sidewalks and continues to monitor erosion control measures for maintenance around the property line and preserve areas.

Josué “Joe” Raymond has joined the team at Heatherwood Construction as a project manager. Raymond has broad experience in the construction industry, including work on several professional stadiums and public schools. He earned a Bachelor of Science in construction engineering from the University of Central Florida his OSHA 30-hour certification. Raymond is proficient in a variety of construction software programs and has worked with community organizations like the Urban Land Institute, Hope & Literacy, the Second Food Harvest Bank and the Community Food Outreach. In addition, Heatherwood Construction added Alex Ramirez as a project superintendent. Alex Ramirez has over 30 years of construction experience in Southwest Florida. This construction professional is bilingual with a strong background in construction management. He has been recognized for his skills in scheduling, organization, quality control, customer service and project efficiency.
 
Clive Daniel Home welcomes Madeline Tracy as director of business development for its Naples location. Tracy brings a track record of promotional and sales accomplishments from her previous tenure with Nordstrom, where she held a series of managerial positions in both the Naples Waterside Shops location and in Salt Lake City. Her tenure with Nordstrom included most recently serving as service experience manager, where she expanded the department and oversaw the rollout of Nordstrom’s digital selling tool. Madeline’s further accomplishments for Nordstrom include the launch of Nordstrom Waterside’s young contemporary department, as well as the successful integration of new vendors and launching several product and teaching seminars for the Nordstrom team.
