With the recent opening of the third Three60 Wine shop, a fourth store already is being built in Southwest Florida and a possible fifth and sixth are in the works, said Rebecca Maddox, founder and co-owner of the Naples-based retail concept.

“We’ve been blessed,” Maddox said. “The stores have done great. People truly appreciate that they can buy better wine at a better price.”

Selling wine with a markup of only $3.60 per bottle above wholesale, Three60 made a name for itself with its initial stores in East Naples and North Naples. Its third store opened Feb. 6 in Estero and a fourth will be built this year from the ground up in Sprouts-anchored Logan Landings in North Naples.

Three60 Wine in EsteroThe concept began years ago at Maddox’s Three60 Market on Bayshore Drive, which started selling wine at discounted prices. That inventory was moved across the street into Rebecca’s wine bar when it launched last April. The first stand-alone store for Three60 Wine opened in 2021 on Trail Boulevard along the east side of U.S. 41 south of Vanderbilt Beach Road in a multiunit building owned by Consolidated Cleaners, the franchisee of Tide Cleaners next door.

A game-changer in growing the Three60 Wine concept was Maddox meeting Jon Kassolis, chief financial officer of Naples-based Consolidated Cleaners. “Instead of being my landlord, why don’t you become my business partner?” Maddox asked Kassolis. That was the beginning of a local business partnership.

Kassolis was sold on Three60’s tremendous value and over-the-top service.

“Cautiously, we believe that this can scale to the amount of units we’ve done with Tide,” he said. That’s 18 locations. Consolidated Cleaners has five locations in Collier County, four in Lee County, three in Sarasota County, six on the east coast of Florida and more in development.

“We always intended to scale the concept, but we needed the results first,” Maddox said.

What’s the secret to Three60’s success? “There’s absolutely no magic to it. You get a great price. You get that service,” Maddox said. “Most people who buy wine would say our selection is incredible. We are volume driven. We sell an awful lot of wine now.”

Three60 Wine in EsteroIt’s not uncommon to see patrons hauling out cases of wine.

“When someone comes in and needs a bottle of wine for that night, they end up leaving with six because it’s so compelling,” Maddox said. “When people come in and they’re wine buyers and they know wine costs, they are stunned.”

Growing the brand has been a team effort. In September, they hired CEO Jason Parsons, who is essential to scaling the brand. Keeping infrastructure and overhead costs low have been essential in expanding the business.

The newest Three60 Wine shop is next to Crave Cookies in the Shoppes at University Highlands, a series of commercial buildings on the west side of Ben Hill Griffin Parkway near Miromar Outlets in Estero.

“Estero will really allow us to showcase all the things we can showcase,” Parsons said.

While wine retail will always be the main attraction, the new Three60 stores also offer beer, cheeses, some gourmet food items and unique retail gifts. Exclusive balsamic vinegars imported from Italy, where gifts of balsamic are given on special occasions, are expected to be added to the shops by the end of the year.

Three60 Wine in Estero“We intend to have those at all of the stores in the near future. It’s months away, not years,” Parsons said.

Construction recently began on the Three60 Wine shop on the last vacant lot in Logan Landings on the southeast corner of Logan Boulevard and Immokalee Road. The store will include a 16-seat bar and event space, architectural plans show.

In scaling the business, subsequent locations have grown in size. The original North Naples shop is 2,100 square feet, the Estero store is 3,000 square feet, and the Logan Landings freestanding location will be more than 3,500 square feet because of additional space added for a bar and space to offer private events and wine tastings.

The recently launched Three60 Wine shop, 19517 Highland Oaks Drive, Estero, is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
