The second location of Two Meatballs in the Kitchen opened Friday in Cape Coral. The family-style restaurant and bar launched in the completely renovated space of the former Pearl Lounge and Rain restaurant, sushi bar and nightclub. The original location of Two Meatballs in the Kitchen in south Fort Myers has operated since 2008, when it was founded by longtime local restaurateur Sal Basile. Franco Russo purchased the local business from Basile in October 2018. “We thought expanding into Cape Coral would be great for us for many reasons but mainly because Cape Coral is a very fast-growing area,” Russo says. The original location is traditional Italian, he said, while the new Cape Coral restaurant features a blend of the traditional with exposed brick, wood and greenery as well as contemporary accents with a big bar and LED lights and signs. Expect the same lunch and dinner menus of pizza, pasta, salads, sandwiches and Italian-American specialties. Two Meatballs in the Kitchen – Cape Coral, 1403 Cape Coral Pkwy.
