Gary Tasman has been following, influencing and brokering Southwest Florida real estate deals for three decades. The CEO of Cushman & Wakefield Commercial Property Southwest Florida has set trends in regional real estate, and now he’s following a trend by starting a monthly podcast called What’s Developing in Southwest Florida.

“With all the things that are going on right now with development and growth, it just makes sense to let the public know what’s going on,” Tasman said. “We’re taking different looks at where the economy is going and what’s next. It’s a deeper dive into the strategies. It’s the story behind the story.”

Tasman enlisted John Talmage, Lee County’s director of economic development, to be his first guest. “John really laid out all the demand for quantity and square footage and job growth,” Tasman said.

Melanie Schmees, director of business and economic research for Naples Chamber of Commerce, and Ben Siegel, executive director of Lee County Port Authority, are upcoming guests for the 20- to 30-minute shows taped at the Collaboratory in downtown Fort Myers and released the third Friday of each month on Apple Podcasts, Podbean, Google Podcast, iHeartRadio and Amazon/Audible.

“I love giving back to the community,” Tasman said. “This is a way to help our community know what’s going on. In our business, information is knowledge. It’s going to help people make better decisions.

“We bring thought leaders and innovators together to talk about what’s coming next and its impact to the region. The podcast is a perfect platform for sharing this information with the entire community and investors.”
