Florida drivers are ending 2025 with lower gas prices, as the statewide average for regular unleaded stood at $2.74 per gallon on Dec. 29, down from $3.03 a month ago and $3.07 a year ago, according to AAA. The national average was slightly higher at $2.83 per gallon. In Southwest Florida, Charlotte County had the lowest average price at $2.63 per gallon, followed by Lee County ($2.69) and Collier County ($2.81). AAA data show Florida’s current averages at $3.18 for mid-grade, $3.51 for premium and $3.56 for diesel, all well below their month-ago levels, marking a relatively affordable close to the year compared with the record highs reached in June 2022.
