Lighthouse of Collier receives $5K technology grant

Lighthouse of Collier received a $5,000 grant from the Collier Community Foundation to upgrade its technology infrastructure. The funding will pay for the nonprofit’s transition from an on-site server to Microsoft SharePoint, a cloud-based platform for storing and managing information. Lighthouse of Collier said the move will improve protection of confidential client and financial information while allowing employees to access records remotely. The capability will be particularly useful for teachers of the visually impaired working during home visits and lessons. The Naples-based nonprofit serves hundreds of clients who are blind or visually impaired.
