City of Sanibel reopened limited beach parking Saturday four months after Hurricane Ian battered the barrier island. Beach parking and public access to the beach will be provided at Trost Parking Lot (76 parking spaces) on Tarpon Bay Road, which serves the Tarpon Bay Road Beach access area; and Blind Pass Beach Park (23 general spaces and six spaces for A or B city of Sanibel beach parking permits). Other locations open for those with a city of Sanibel A or B beach parking permit are East Gulf at Colony beach access (two spaces with an A permit), Beach Road beach access (approximately 13 spaces), Nerita Street beach access (approximately six spaces), Bock Peace Park (six spaces), Bayview Park (10 spaces) and Sanctuary Overlook (two spaces).
