Blackened mahi-mahi highlights seafood menu

Blackened mahi-mahi is served with cilantro lime jasmine rice and pineapple salsa at Oar & Iron Raw Bar & Grill. The dish is part of the restaurant’s seafood-focused “Oar” menu.

Charlotte County will add another dining option April 9 with the opening of Oar & Iron Raw Bar & Grill on Cypress Parkway in the Babcock Ranch community.

Manager Ryan Wilson said final preparations were underway ahead of the opening of the restaurant, part of a growing concept tied to the New England-based 110 Grill brand.

Oar & Iron is the Florida adaptation of 110 Grill, which launched in 2014 and has expanded to more than three dozen locations across New England and New York. Founder Ryan Dion, CEO of RAVentures, partnered with developer Robert Walker to bring the concept to Florida in 2024, debuting the first Oar & Iron at Founders Square in North Naples.

Since then, the partners have expanded the concept to additional Florida locations, including Fort Myers and Parrish. The Babcock Ranch restaurant marks the fourth Oar & Iron in the state.

Like its northern counterpart, Oar & Iron emphasizes a menu that is largely gluten-free, with most dishes designed to accommodate food allergies. Wilson said the concept has built a reputation for offering flexible, allergen-conscious dining options.

The menu is divided between “Oar,” featuring seafood, and “Iron,” focused on meats and poultry. Seafood selections include seared ahi tuna, Cajun mahi-mahi, pan-seared red snapper, charred octopus, grilled salmon, grouper and clam risotto, oysters, mussels and lobster dishes.

Mango BBQ ribs bring sweet and spicy flavor

Mango BBQ ribs are served with mango jalapeno glaze, corn muffins and Caribbean slaw at Oar & Iron Raw Bar & Grill. The dish is part of the restaurant’s meat-focused “Iron” menu.

Meat offerings include steaks, chicken, burgers, ribs, pulled pork and pork chops, along with weekend prime rib specials. The menu also includes pasta dishes, soups, salads and desserts, such as bananas Foster and a key lime tart parfait.

Several dishes feature distinctive flavor combinations. Mango BBQ ribs are served with a mango jalapeno glaze, corn muffins and Caribbean slaw. Pan-seared Gulf red snapper is paired with lobster cream sauce, fingerling potatoes and broccolini. Chicken caprese includes seasoned chicken breast with mozzarella, basil, roasted tomatoes and balsamic reduction.

Charred octopus adds bold flavor to menu

Charred octopus with citrus accents is one of the standout seafood dishes at Oar & Iron Raw Bar & Grill. The dish reflects the restaurant’s focus on fresh, flavorful ingredients.

Other items include an ahi tuna poke stack with rice noodles and soy ginger dressing, charred octopus with citrus accents, diver scallops with corn risotto and Cajun blackened mahi-mahi with cilantro lime jasmine rice and pineapple salsa. A vegetable-forward option, Harvest Bucatini, features pasta with seasonal vegetables, pomodoro sauce and Parmesan.

Signature cocktails crafted with tropical flavors

Signature cocktails at Oar & Iron include the Coconut Watermelon Mojito and Mango Regiment. Drinks are designed to complement the restaurant’s coastal-inspired menu.

The restaurant also offers a selection of signature cocktails, including a Coconut Watermelon Mojito made with coconut rum, watermelon and lime; the O&I 75 with grapefruit gin, elderflower liqueur and Prosecco; and the Mango Regiment, which blends bourbon with mango and lychee flavors. Cocktails are priced from $15 to $18.

Oar & Iron Raw Bar & Grill is at 42070 Cypress Parkway. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
