If you’re a real estate agent in Southwest Florida, you’re in good company. Meaning, you have a lot of company.

The metro areas of Southwest Florida rank among the highest in the nation when it comes to the number of real estate agents per capita, according to an analysis of labor statistics by Inspection Support Network. Punta Gorda, Fort Myers and Naples are all among the top five nationwide. For perspective, the average number of real estate professionals per 1,000 employees nationwide is around 1.105. In Southwest Florida, it’s more than triple that amount.

Overall, it makes sense. Southwest Florida—and Florida, in general—is experiencing rapid population growth. Plus, these numbers are pre-pandemic, before the recent real estate surge.
